Intent Statement
Exam Board: AQA
At Saint Edmund Arrowsmith Catholic Academy (SEACA), we aim to develop student's awareness of the world around by equipping them with a variety of skills that help them to make sense of and question a dynamically changing world.
By studying a variety of topics at different locations and scales throughout the world that help illustrate how human actions and physical processes can impact on each other, we aim to develop our student's spatial awareness, analytical skills, reasoning, justification and enquiry skills, as well as their cultural awareness and empathy towards others. In doing so, we aim to create a thirst for knowledge and a curiosity to learn.
We strive to improve our pupil's literacy and numeracy skills throughout the subject which is imperative given the starting point and backgrounds of recent cohorts.
