The Careers Programme at SEACA – An Overview

The careers programme at SEACA spans Years 7 to 11 and the programme incorporates one to one guidance interviews, guest speakers, targeted enrichment activities in and out of school, employer engagement events and provider taster sessions. Pupils also have a sequence of specialised Careers lessons as part of the Personal Development Programme of Study – you can find the Personal Development curriculum map here.

We measure and assess the impact of our careers programme on pupils through our NEET figures, through analysis of the proportion of pupils who progress to apprenticeships, further education, higher education and other forms of training and employment, through our progress towards the Gatsby Benchmarks and through pupils and stakeholder voice.

This information will next be reviewed July 2024.

Information for employers

Calling all employers, colleges, universities and apprenticeship providers…

You may be interested in getting involved in providing our pupils with some information, advice and guidance relating to your industry, business, college or university. We are always seeking out people from the world of work and FE/HE education to come and offer a different perspective to our pupils, and we would be very interested in getting you involved.

There are a number of ways you might want to do this. We run several events throughout the academic year (years 7-11) which focus pupils’ attention on careers, which would be an ideal opportunity for you to offer some advice and guidance. Alternatively, you would be welcome to come and speak during an assembly or work with a small group.

If you would like to get involved in some way, please contact the school’s careers lead, Mrs H. Charnley on H.charnley@seaca.pfcmat.org or by telephone on 01514778770.

Please visit our Policies page to see our policy statement on Provider Access.
