Our Faith Mission
Faith Ethos
"He has come so they may have life and live it to the full." John 10:10
We are called to serve with: Love, Inspiration, Empowerment & Joy.
Our principal role as a Catholic academy is to participate in the mission of the Catholic Church by providing a framework which will help our young people to grow in their understanding of the Good News and in the practice of their faith. The academy will help the young people to develop fully as human beings and prepare them to undertake their responsibilities as Catholic in society.
Archdiocese & Academy Chaplain
At Saint Edmund Arrowsmith our school chaplain, Ms Julie Currall, plays a key role in the life of the academy and the academy community.
Welcome from our school chaplain, Julie;
Just a little info about me - I was an R.E teacher for many years at a school in Liverpool and found working with young people both a delight and a challenge and, of course, very rewarding. My parish is St. Michael's & Sacred Heart near Liverpool city centre. I really take seriously Jesus' invitation to work for justice and peace and have worked with others on a number of projects, among them visiting and monitoring an agricultural project in East Timor. Every Sunday I join a group which provides a hearty meal for local vulnerable people in my parish.
I enjoy working as part of the pastoral team with all those people who care for you here and to help us grow together to be the people Jesus calls us to be. We'll help each other to explore what Jesus teaches so we might discover the direction he wants us to go. We'll do this in lots of different ways – through retreat days, here and away from school, awareness and fund raising events, visiting speakers, and through prayer time together.
Probably the most important part of my job is to listen to you whenever you need me. Sometimes life isn't easy and at different times we all have to face things that are really difficult, so it's important you know that I'm here if you need to talk things through.
It is really easy to find me. I am based in the Chaplaincy room in the Atrium and am always around and about before school, during break and lunch time and at the end of the school day.
